Sometimes marketers don't need to do a lot. All they need to do
is to provide a platform for their audience and ask for relevant
content.
(It is called user generated content. You've heard and
seen it in the past.)
More often than not it doesn't work. But sometimes it does.
Sometimes is a match made in heaven - like in the case of
the Jewellery Information Centre.
The JIC, the consumer education arm of Jewellers of America, ran
the Ultimate Proposal Contest last April.
The contest, a nationwide search for the best engagement story,
received over 1,200 story entries. JIC chose the top 10 and then
let America vote for the favourite one.
