Mexican Wave

Without the Mexican and without the wave.

Communication in its basics is commonly defined as "the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs". (thanks, Wikipedia).

So?...

So let's say, you're in a basketball game. You love your team. You want them to win. But the rival team is good. Too good. Especially one of their players. Let's call him LeBron.

What if you could disturb LeBron, take him out of his comfort zone so that he will - potentially - miss his next shot?...
What if you could communicate with the crowd during the game and make it chant something really disturbing?...

Well thanks to Twitter, you can mobilise crowd chants almost to the minute during a game.

Bill Simons did it. Bill, a columnist for ESPN and avid Boston sports fan has used his considerable Twitter account (Followers: 1,196,270) to start a @celticschants twitter account to instruct followers in the crowd to start chanting to put off the other teams players from his home in LA. He already has 12,000 followers for the CelticsChants twitter feed. Check it out.

That's what I love technology. As Nokia said it before, it connects people.
