The Challenge
It is no secret that the world of cheap air travel is a
competitive one, but with a new carrier, Tiger Airways entering the
market, the current market leader, Jetstar thought it was time to
update their online technology. They approached us to develop a
central Content Management System that could be rolled out across
the Asia/Pacific region, enabling them to manage multiple sites, in
multiple languages with one solution.
Our Strategy
Having introduced the chosen Content Management System,
Sitecore, to Australia and implemented it many times across a range
of industries, this was the perfect project to extend our
experience in the area. Due to the high traffic and diverse
audience of the website, it was crucial the CMS be robust, but also
flexible in terms of customising to Jetstar's requirements. In line
with this, we used a phased approach to migrate Jetstar's content
to the new system.
The Results
Our implementation of the solution provided Jetstar with greater
flexibility over their website and content, and enabled the IT
department the ability to push content management to other business
units across multiple countries. Along with the CMS design and
development, Next Digital has undertaken a 6 month SEO campaign to
increase Search Engine presence and ensure Jetstar remains
consistently high in organic rankings, in an extremely competitive
industry.
